This group will meet the third Thursday of each month from 1-2pm, starting in September, in person in the Monroe Disability Network Office.
For anybody who self identifies as having a disability. This group is not exclusive to any specific age or disability, this is a general group where anybody in the community can attend to increase Independent Living (IL) skill development.
In this group the participants will learn a new skill each meeting with a focus on gaining independent living. This can be anything from tech support, financial management, navigate and maintain housing, healthy relationships, hygiene skills and much more. Periodically, there will be guest speakers both from internal staff and external organizations to partner with. There will be take home reminders and worksheets available for the attendees to compile their own independent living binder.
